We started in 2011, with an idea of serving out ordinary rolls in the most special way. We rolled in the idea of serving Kathi Roll which is a street-food originating from Kolkata, India. Its original form was a kathi kebab which was enclosed in a paratha, but over the years many variants have evolved all of which now go under the generic name of Kathi Roll. Today, pretty much any filling rolled up in any kind of Indian flatbread is called a kathi roll.
There are many stories about how exactly the roll got started. Some centre around harried office commuters who wanted something quick and portable, some mention British Babus who were too fastidious to touch the kebab. The most likely origin is probably more mundane, but in any case someone decided to roll things up at some point. It enjoyed a virtual monopoly of this method of serving a kebab for decades, but it eventually became common place in Kolkata and later spread elsewhere.
Traditionally, a Kathi Roll is a Kathi Kebab wrapped in a layered paratha. The paratha is typically dough that is kneaded into a rope, then coiled into a round patty. This is then flattened with a rolling pin and partly fried in oil/butter on a tawa. We make fresh paratha's there and then add hot filling as per the order.
So, the expertise brought in from the by-lanes of Kolkata to the streets of NCR served with a touch of North Indian Flavor. We have come a long way since and enjoyed a fantastic privilege in N.C.R. with tremendous goodwill. We thank all all our customers to make us reach at this stage.
